The Christmas Gift That You Want... But Do You?

"Jing-gle bells, Jing-gle bells, Jing-gle all the way! Oh how fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh!" Tamang-tama pala itong 10th tutorial ko here in Work From Home Pinoy Ako, pwedeng pang Christmas. And this is my Christmas gift for you.
Haaay... Christmas na and I missed spending this time of the year with our family, relatives, and friends in the Philippines. The never ending Christmas parties, food, food, and lots of food.
Malamig na rin ang simoy ng hangin dito sa Australia kasi Christmas na. Sandali lang, summer na ngayon dito, why is it so cold cold pa rin? Hehehe.
This is the second time that my family will spend Christmas away from the Philippines and I think my third or fourth time if I will include the time when I was still singol, I mean single. :)
Although I'm with my family here in Australia, nakakalungkot pa rin talaga as you will be away from your loved ones, at ibang klase talaga yung pasko natin diyan sa Pilipinas.
Our 2010 Christmas day celebration.
The early morning Simbang Gabi with a lot of parishioners going to church even if it starts at 4:30 in the morning, and the noisy fire crackers that you will hear as early as the 1st of December.
The gift giving and exchange gifts, the Christmas lights decorated along the streets of Ayala and on the nice houses around the neighborhood.
As I've said a while ago, the lively and never ending Christmas parties, the food for Noche Buena, and best of all, inuman with your relatives and friends, and so much more.

I think I'm going to stop there na because I'm getting teary-eyed already. O nga pala pati the jam-packed malls lalo na ang SM, and the bumper to bumper traffic. Pati yung traffic miss ko na rin.
Tama na, tama na! Stop na already. :)
How about you virtual assistants and entrepreneurs? How do you spend your Christmas specially when you are away from your family?
And now, let's go back to the Christmas gift that Work From Home Pinoy Ako will give to you all aspiring virtual assistants and entrepreneurs as well, who want to market your business online. This 10th tutorial here in Work From Home Pinoy Ako, your online school, is about the Jing app.

What is Jing? According to Mang Wiki, Jing is a screencasting computer program launched in 2007 as Jing Project by the TechSmith Corporation.

The software takes a picture or video of the user's computer screen and uploads it to the Web, FTP, computer, or clipboard. If uploaded to the web, the program automatically creates a URL to the image that can be shared with others.

Jing is compatible with Macintosh and Microsoft Windows. Users must sign up for an account before using the software.

I haven't tried to use a screencast app for my tutorial and this might be a good variation. My plan is to make more app tutorials using video (or screencasting) while using Power Point lesser.
I've already made 10 tutorials using Power Point and  it was really challenging as you have to teach using at most 10 words per slide and use the red arrow and red square to emphasize on which to click and where to key-in or type-in a text, URL, data, etc.

You also need a screenshot on each and every step including the other actions such as "right-click", "press enter key", etc. You also need images to add color to your tutorial.

However, this PDF or Power Point Tutorial will really impress your client because it's detailed and will really need a lot of imagination, creativity, and patience.
The 100-plus slides that I made for each of the tutorial gave me an average of 1 week to finish including the selection of images to be put in the slides.
This time by using a video tutorial, I can see that it will be easier except for the needed practice that I will do when talking and explaining the procedures in a video.

Before doing the new video app tutorials here in your online school, Work From Home Pinoy Ako, I'll be presenting my Christmas gift to you. Here it is, How To Use Jing.
That's it! I hope you liked my Christmas gift and have learned something from the Jing tutorial and you can use it to your advantage soon.

As a virtual assistant, you can also do video tutorials for your client, explain an app, a procedure, or give a report by voicing over the video presentation.

I also hope that you have gained some knowledge here in Work From Home Pinoy Ako for the 10 tutorials that I have posted so far.

"Teka Marco, paano na yung secret of getting paid in the internet na ire-reveal mo dito sa Work From Home Pinoy Ako?"

Oo nga pala... So now that you are ready to become a virtual assistant, how can a client pay you? Or if you are an entrepreneur, how can customers pay you?
There are a number of ways of getting paid when doing work or business online.
One way is through bank transfers but this is usually done manually using money transfer services. I guess this will only be the last option of your client.

They can do online money transfers if you both live in the same country and usually you must have the same bank. But here in Australia, you can have different banks and can still transfer money.
Another way is integrating a credit card facility into your website so that customers can pay via their credit cards or even a debit card. But this is for entrepreneurs who have online businesses. If you are a virtual assistant, maybe you can try this and let your client pay you via your website pero medyo weird.
And last but not the least is getting paid through PayPal. Syempre huli lagi ang bida. :)
According to Mang Wiki, Paypal is an American, international e-commerce business allowing payments and money transfers to be made through the internet. Online money transfers serve as electronic alternatives to paying with traditional paper methods, such as checks and money orders.

Before using PayPal, Work From Home Pinoy Ako will teach you how to open an account in PayPal, and how to pay and get paid using PayPal. So check out the tutorial below and enjoy.

Now that you know how PayPal works, I wish you all the best towards becoming a successful virtual assistant and receiving payments online from your clients.

I wish also the entrepreneurs good luck on receiving sales online through various ways including receiving payments through PayPal.

More importantly, you can monitor the statistics on who's clicking and possibly reading your blog.

Then you learned Evernote, a powerful way of making notes for your blog, for your work, or for your personal use. The best thing about Evernote is that you can access it anywhere. If you are a virtual assistant, you can store content ideas for your client's blog like headlines to use, keywords, etc., even consolidating itineraries of your client. Following this was you learned How To Create a Facebook Page. This is very important because your Facebook page will be the tambayan of your fans. Who are your fans? The ones that read your blog and buy your product. This is were you entertain and talk to them so that you can get valuable feedback. Finally, the last basic tutorial was about How To Integrate Mad Mimi into a blog. Email catcher apps are very important in ones blog site specially if you want to sell something.
And now, another important online course that you should learn here in Work From Home Pinoy Ako is how to broadcast and schedule posts to your different social media accounts. This app is so important because you won't be able to miss the exact date and time that you want to post and broadcast your essay (blog post) in Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, etc.
According to Mang Wiki, Hootsuite is a social media management system for brand management created by Ryan Holmes in 2008. The system's user interface takes the form of a dashboard, and support network integrations for Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Google Plus, and LinkdIn. Ayan, techie masyado ang definition. Basta pang broadcast sya and pang schedule ng posts. :)

The Marketing Trick That Makes Your Client Want You More

Autoresponder, landing pages, email catcher, narinig mo na ba ang mga yon? I remember when I was in college, I was into MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) and I usually made a list of my prospective downlines and customers through my own network only: kaibigan, kamaganak, kapitbahay, kaklase, kainuman, kabasketball, kasintahan, etc. or KKK for short.

Because I knew them, I already had their telephone numbers including their pager IDs, kept in the phonebook section of my organizer. Syempre I listed their contact numbers manually lang, I used a pen and wrote them in my phonebook.
If I did not have their contact numbers, I had to ask them directly or sometimes I asked my friends who knew them. I also made my own calling cards and distributed them in seminars so that my prospects can easily contact me if they decide to join or would want to buy the product.

Next step was to call and ask them if they knew someone (Kaibigan, Kamaganak, Kapitbahay) who wants to earn an extra income. But actually sila yung gusto kong papuntahin sa seminar. When I finally convinced them to come, I also asked them to bring along their KKKs para sulit ang seminar and hopefully some will sign up and become our downline. If not, sana bumili na lang sila ng product and become a regular customer.
This was the way we collected our prospects' details, particularly their telephone numbers. Yun ang pinaka-valuable noon. Ngayon, the most valuable information of an entrepreneurs's prospects when you want them to become your future customer is the email address.
So how do you do this online? Meron bang app to do this? But first, you have to create a nice blog and hope that people will read and follow your blog posts. In that blog, you have to have an email catcher app so that when your fans want to follow your blog, they can simply provide their email address and they will automatically receive your articles whenever you will have a new post.

There are a lot of email catchers or autoresponders na pagpipilian and one of the popular email catcher is Mad Mimi. (Logo)

According to Mad Mimi, it is the easiest way to create, send, share and track email newsletters online. Mad Mimi is for people who want email marketing to be simple.

So for the virtual assistants, learning how to use Mad Mimi is so important because this will be the bread and butter of the entrepreneurs you will be working for. You must know how to create a campaign with appropriate newsletters, schedule these emails, and track these email newsletters online. But before doing that, Work From Home Pinoy Ako, your online education tool, will teach you how to integrate Mad Mimi into Blogger.
Here now is the PDF tutorial on How To Integrate Mad Mimi into Blogger, brought to you by your online school, Work From Home Pinoy Ako:
Another learning from Work From Home Pinoy Ako that I wish you will find useful in your future endeavor as a virtual assistant. For current virtual assistants, this will only serve as a review as well.

Do you know other email catcher app that you can integrate into your blog? Please type in the comment box below.

Be a Facebook Page Genius!

Do you already have a Facebook account? If none, magmadali ka and open an account kasi ikaw na lang ang iniintay namin dito sa Work From Home Pinoy Ako. :)
My second question is, do you already have a Facebook page? If none, then it's ok because not everybody has it. Even your Work From Home Pinoy Ako website had just created its Facebook page recently called Work In Your Pajamas. But, If you already have one then congratulations! I'll give you a big clap... Clap! Clap! Clap!
Ano ba ang Facebook page? What does it do or what can it do for you as karaniwang tao who only have a personal account where you share your personal experiences, events in your lives, pictures with your loved ones and friends, pictures of your favorite food, movies, TV shows, and hobbies?
But what if you have a passion, yung gustong gusto mong gawin or yung hobbies or talent mo na you want to share to other people aside from your friends found in your personal Facebook account? Or if you have that entrepreneur's mindset, what if you want to sell something in Facebook like yung designer bags (na madalas kong makita sa Facebook na binebenta), shoes, toys, yung novelty cakes na mahilig mong i-bake for your family, relatives, and friends?
I think you are getting what a Facebook page is and what it is for. Actually, Work From Home Pinoy Ako, your online school, checked out Mareng Julia Campbell of business2community.com and she said that there are 3 advantages in using a Facebook Page: Exposure, (Good) Karma, and Relationships. In summary, if you do it right, you can get a lot of fans to talk about your Facebook page by keeping them engaged. Because of this, the good karma (lots of likes, comments, and shares) will just happen because of the kind of service you are giving them (your fans). This way, your relationship with your fans will grow deeper and their loyalty will last for a long time.
However, before making a Facebook page, there is one secret ingredient that you must use according to Jomar Hilario, the Filipino expert in online marketing. Atin atin lang ito ha?
Ready? Before you were born, I'm sure pinagisipan mabuti ng parents mo kung ano ipapangalan syo. Siguro they made a very long list of probable baby names to name you.
Wala pang Google noon so most probably they searched by asking their relatives and friends, looked for Christian names in the Bible like Elijah, Elisha, Jeremiah, Jesus, Maria, Joseph. Maybe some even considered names from a car brand/model like Mercedes, Toyota, or Celica. Months of the year like April, May, June, or July. Some were even more creative  as they combined their names like Junmar, from Jun and Marites, Maron for Mart and Sharon, etc.
I'm very sure that what they named you, they thought of that very carefully because they wanted your name to be LIKEABLE.
You are so precious to them that's why they named you with the most nicest and most likeable name. So before creating a Facebook page, think of a likeable name, as if it will be your own child.
So if you're planning to create a Facebook page, I hope this tutorial from Work From Home Pinoy Ako will guide you through the basics.

Now that you know how to create a Facebook page, you can start making a fan page and market your product when it's time to sell. If you are a work from home virtual assistant, then you can impress your client by creating a Facebook page the right way. If you are already a virtual assistant, this can be an additional knowledge for you.
